you know how there are some books that you read at the exact right moment in your life? when I was 15 I read Weetzie Bat by Francesca Lia Block. I can honestly say without exaggeration that it completely changed me. or more so, it showed me who I was. I found this magical story when I felt most alone, weird and unsure of who I was.
 
I just started rereading the series and I was afraid that five years later I would be somehow disillusioned with it. I can happily say that's not the case, and I still remember that I am the person I am, am going to be, because of this magical little book.

..I don't know how many of you gals watch Studio Ghibli films, but I felt like making our Ghibli selves. Comment with a character if you'd like one! (: I chose Kiki, who was the first Hayao Miyazaki film I saw as a kid, and who I still idolize. If we run out, we can double up!

I'm reading Hick by Andrea Portes after watching the movie for the millionth time. While it isn't a perfect film per se, there is something I just love about it. I see a lot of myself in Luli. And you have to admit it: the outfits are flawless.
